Chinook or "King" Salmon harvested from the Yukon River are as large and wild as the river itself. These are 30-40 lb. salmon yielding 2-3 inch thick fillets. Sorry, because of the size of these Chinook salmon and the thickness of each fillet, no small portions of this product are available. These King Salmon fillets have a substantial fat layer supplying you with all those wonderfully healthy Omega 3 fatty acids and keeping the fillet melt-in-your-mouth moist when baked or grilled.
The name Yukon comes from the native Gwich'in people who pronounce it "Yu-kun-ah" meaning "Great River". The Yukon River is the fifth longest river in North America. Its pure glacial water flows in a Northwesterly path 2,300 miles through Alaska and the Yukon Territory of Canada finally emptying into Norton Sound on the Bering Sea.
These beautiful Yukon River King salmon are handled with the utmost care. They are immediately bled, iced, processed, individually vacuum-packaged into 8-16 oz fillets and flash-frozen to maintain gourmet quality, flavor, and nutrients for your dinner table.
