Both of our Smoked Salmon varieties begin with wild-caught Alaskan Salmon Fillets. After smoking, our Smoked Salmon is immediately vacuum-packed and frozen. When you serve it it's as if it just came out of the smoker. Try it and you'll see what we mean! No artificial flavoring, coloring, or preservatives. A great way to round out the Seafood Combo Pack, Alaskan Seafood Sampler, or any gift order!
The difference between King Salmon and Sockeye Salmon:
The King Salmon varieties are larger fillets (usually 2-3 per 1 pound bag), as such they are more moist and juicy than the Sockeye varieties and generally fall apart easily. Additionally, the flavor of the brine and smoke is more apparent in the King salmon as it is a milder flavored fish, it picks up the other flavors more easily.
The Sockeye varieties are smaller fillets (on average 3-5 per 1 pound bag), and tend to be a firmer texture than the King after smoking. Sockeye salmon has a stronger flavor naturally, so the brine and smoke flavors are less noticeable than in the King salmon.
The difference between Indian-Candy and Traditional:
Our Traditional style Alaskan Smoked Salmon is cured in garlic and onion flakes, peppercorns and rock salt, and alder smoked to produce nutritious and delicious salmon. Enjoy this savory, gourmet treat that is high in heart healthy Omega-3's.
Indian Candy is quite different than other smoked salmon products sold in gift shops and grocery stores. If that's what you're used to, you're in for a pleasant surprise. It is brined in brown sugar and rock salt, and smoked in an alder wood smoke. Enjoy this sweeter, gourmet treat that is high in heart healthy Omega-3's.
Keep frozen until a day before you're ready to serve. Thaw in the refrigerator.
