Steelhead are classified as an anadromous salmonids; which simply means they spend their adult life (1-4 years) in the ocean and return to freshwater rivers and streams to spawn.
Steelhead Trout is so much like salmon in color, taste, and texture that in a blind taste test, it is very difficult to differentiate between the two. Our Steelhead Trout is tribal wild-caught and packaged in individual 6 oz. portions. These frozen vacuum-packed fillets are skin-on and boneless.
With Pacific Salmon and Steelhead Trout being so similar, any recipe for salmon can be used for Steelhead. Try it baked, broiled, or on the grill! Visit our Recipe Page for some new and exciting ideas on how to prepare your wild seafood products.
